A Share of Internet Real-Estate

I have had a web-site up & running now for over 12 months. Never doing a lot with it, I might add, but I enjoyed the fact that I owned a little bit of internet real-estate with which I could at the very least venture into and have a bit of fun & enjoyment posting articles now & then.

It did appear at that time, my little piece of Internet real estate was only occupied by me anyway. I don’t think my site had any visitors, but it was a kind of enjoyment talking & writing to my self. I did learn a great deal more on how to use keywords in my articles, but never could find much to write about at that time.

The Internet being a very big and diverse area of knowledge, it is possible to find all kinds of information you want or need for every day living or enjoyment. But as most Internet surfers can tell you, it can be costly & a waste of money, it does pay to use caution in a lot of cases. It’s an old saying but very true, “if sounds to good to be true then it properly is”. I only mention my Internet experiences in passing to explain how I came to be writing a Hub in the first place.

Article Writing

Not being a very writer orientated person and thinking I don’t have a great deal to write about any way, I found submitting articles to various sites quite difficult and embarrassing. One site I did submit to was HubPages and found the experience very simple to do & satisfying when published. Their HubCamp tutorials where inspirational to me, in that if you try to write as though you are talking to friends, family & people in every day live, it would become more enjoyable.
Hence this type of approach as opened up a rich vein of knowledge I did not know I have. It seams now anything that comes to mind I think, I wonder if that would make a good Hub?

New Sub-Domains

So getting back to the whole point of my hub is this.

It all began because I was looking at the actual workings of the site which is cpanel. Being inquisitive & nosey I came across the area of sub domain, parked domain and addon domain. Trying to be a little more adventurous with my web-site, thinking I could expand my little bit of Internet real-estate I would register a sub-domain, it was free, and any way it could be deleted if not needed.

Now I know the sub-domain is in there, because the file manager settings say so.
But getting to use it is a completely different operation all together. I’ve tried all the tutorial video’s which are very good in there way, all to no avail. I have left this sub- domain to simmer, thinking it probably has to have time to propagate before it is active.
On the 14th November I purchased & registered a new addon domain and did exactly
the same procedure as before. You’re guest it the same the same thing as happened again.
I know the addon domain is in there, because the file manager settings say so.

At the present time I have :
One main site which operates very well with themes, wordpress knobs & whistles

Two sub-domains which are there, but unavailable.

I have been in touch with my host help support team, but it appears I don’t speak the same the same language when it comes to computers, trying to explain my predicament. I have been very frustrated doing every thing I was instructed & then to find that not one thing has changed.
This all started on the 14th November & on the evening of the 19th November I am still at square one.

It occurred to me in my predicament and bewilderment of what to do next. What if I wrote a Hub about my situation, there’s bound to be quite a few Hubbers out there who may have had a similar problem or at least have a clue of some sort of solution?
For the record : My hosting company is HostClear

Thank you for taking the time & effort to read this Hub, I hope it has been of some interest to you & perhaps a lot of help to me.
